How did we get our start?
Our origin goes back to the mid-1800s when a talented gymnast acquired four weaving looms and a skilled business partner to begin manufacturing elastics at a sewing supply store in Winterthur, Switzerland. We are still headquartered there today with locations around the world.

The company was established in 1864 in Winterthur. For about 100 years, SIGVARIS produced “rubber-elastic textiles”, which it sold both in Switzerland and abroad.
